When I think back to all the times you visited, my first
thoughts are of Laughter. Trying to
sleep at night the sounds from Grammy’s kitchen would carry across the summer’s
night air; playing scrabble or just conversation, the laughter carried the
loudest. The memory of it is so vivid,
each of you sounding so distinct; I hear it clearly to this day.
I remember when you came to surprise Grammy & Grandpa on
their 50th anniversary. You
“hide out” at our house. I recall how
excited my Mom was that they would be surprised, and how happy she was you were
there. More recently, I called her on
the phone and you were there visiting, I could hear the joy in her voice. For me, my own mother’s laughter is the most
wonderful sound.
I hope you have a wonderful birthday, and that these blogs
bring you as much joy as you have brought to those of us writing them.
Happy Birthday!
Love, Kimberly
